    I wouldn’t think so…not if you are still injured and unable to work, why would that matter. You have to continue living, you cant live on a settlement forever.

    If you go on disability as a result of the injuries you sustained related to the PI claim, the disability carrier may put a lien on your settlement. You will have to pay them back. If you have an attorney discuss this with him/her.

    It’s possible, depending on what the settlement is consisting of – what you are SETTLING.

    Although I think you mean “bodily injury”, as technically, “personal injury” means libel, slander, defamation of character, false arrest, etc – things that hurt your “person” but not your body.
